Baton Rouge Soccer Club Executive Director, Gary Buete, and Director of Coaching and Louisiana NSCAA Technical Director, Marvin Smith, were recently selected to attend the National Training Camp event in Phoenix, Arizona for the 2000 girls age group. The camp was held January 27th – February 1st. The National Training Camp was made up of the top 18 girls born in 2000 from each of the four regions of the country. The event focus was on training the players at a very high level while trying to identify the top players to put on the National Team watch list.
“The Phoenix National Training Camp was an extremely gratifying experience working with some of the best players and coaches from all four soccer regions around the country! The speed of play was absolutely terrific as players solve the game with highest degree of individual technical proficiency, tactical speed of execution, creativity, imagination and confidence…. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be invited to serve on staff for this event,” said BRSC Director of Coaching, Marvin Smith.
