2014 USYS Region III Championships
June 19 through June 26, 2014 Baton Rouge will host the 2014 US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championship. 210 soccer teams from 11 states will descend upon the Burbank Soccer Complex to compete for an opportunity to advance to the National Championships.
Teams competing at the Region III Championships are US Youth Soccer State Cup Champions and selected wildcard teams through the US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League. Region III represents State Associations of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Texas and Tennessee.
Teams consist of both boys and girls ages 13 to 19 years old and equates to approximately 4,200 players. Including the travel party for each player, coaches, referees, volunteers, and soccer officials from each state, over 14,000 visitors are expected throughout the week, generating an estimated economic impact of $14-18 million.
The 2014 US Youth Soccer Southern Regional Championship will be hosted by Baton Rouge Soccer Club. The Baton Rouge Soccer Club is a non-profit organization founded in 1975 whose mission is to provide quality soccer opportunities to the greater Baton Rouge area. With over 6,500 members, BRSC has been the recognized leader in the expansion of soccer as the fastest growing team sport in the Baton Rouge community.
Baton Rouge Soccer Club is currently seeking donations, in-kind donations, and sponsorships to help offset the expense of managing an event of this magnitude. These expenses include food, golf cart rentals, tents with air conditioning, field equipment, and field improvements. All donations are tax deductible.
