Mike Mahoney began coaching with BRSC in 1984 after moving back to the United States from Great Britain. He grew up playing soccer and he has coached at every level with BRSC including Recreational, Developmental & Premier. Mike is currently the Vice-President of Education on the BRSC Executive Board and has served as a League Coordinator as well as a member of the Youth Board. Mahoney holds a USSF “C” License, USSF License, NSCAA Premier Diploma, NSCAA Youth Diploma and a KNVB Dutch Certificate. Mahoney eagerly pursues continuing education by attending USSF and NSCAA Conventions every chance he gets. Mike lives in Baton Rouge with his wife, Kutay. Mike currently is the head coach for our U15 Boys White team.
Roger Chapcap is one of our outstanding young coaches. He is originally from Baton Rouge and grew up playing soccer for the Baton Rouge United Club, BRSC, Cajun Soccer Club, Redemptorist High School and Louisiana College. Chapcap’s coaching experience includes: 2005- 2007 Zachary High School Assistant Coach, 2007-2009 Parkview Baptist Head Coach, 2008-present BRSC Head coach for our U16 Girls and Boys Black team, 2008-present BRSC Developmental Coach. Chapcap holds a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Advance Regional Diploma. Chapcap is a teacher at Parkview High School.
Pablo Presedo grew up in Baton Rouge and played soccer through high school. He began his BRSC coaching career as a staff coach in the Developmental League as Head Coach of the team Attack. Pablo holds a “D” License, a USSF National Youth License and the NSCAA Regional & Advanced Regional diploma. He is currently the Head coach of the U10 Girls BRSC Black team and was the Assistant Coach of the Episcopal High Boys soccer team last year. In addition, Pablo is a referee for our association. Outside of being a coach and referee, he has volunteered countless hours for BRSC sponsored tournaments and events. Pablo ran track at Baton Rouge High School & still holds state records, he ran track and cross country at LSU and is still on the all time Outdoor LSU list for 10,000m. Pablo lives in Baton Rouge with his wife Lisa and his children Steffi & Natalie.
Danielle Keath grew up in Florida. She attended Satellite Beach High School. She played for the Tampa Bay Heather Soccer Club. She moved to Baton Rouge to attend Louisiana State University. Danielle has a 4 year letter winner for LSU Women’s Soccer and holds a D License. She received the 2001 LSU Freshman of the Year Award, the 2001 All-Louisiana Honorable Mention, and the 2002 LSU Strength and Conditioning Award. Danielle has been a coach with BRSC since 2009. She is the current head coach of the BRSC 00 girls Red and the BRSC 03 girls Maroon.
Jennifer Kennedy Franklin
Jennifer Kennedy Franklin joined our BRSC staff in the fall of 2008. She enjoyed an illustrious intercollegiate playing career at University of North Carolina – Greensboro, where she was named to the All-Conference team for three years, All- Tournament team, and team captain her senior year. She also played in the W-league for the Piedmont Spark/Greensboro Twisters for 8 years and for an amateur team who received 2nd place in Nationals held in Seattle (2007). She also participated in the North Carolina ODP as a youth player. Franklin’s coaching experience includes: Club coach for Winston Salem Twins and Greensboro Twisters. She was also the Head Coach for Northwest Guilford, HS where she received conference Coach of The Year and Regional Coach of The Year honors in 2007. She currently coaches our BRSC 00 red and 01 maroon girls’ teams. Franklin is a teacher at Greenbrier Elementary and coaches High School Soccer at St. Michael's High School. She holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “D” License. Last year she won the state championship with the u-14 black team.
Juan R. Salvadores-Canedo
Originally from La Coruña, Spain, Juan R. Salvadores-Canedo comes to Baton Rouge Soccer Club with a wealth of experience as both a player and coach. Juan has worked as a collaborator and/or lecturer to the kinesiology departments of Valladolid at Palencia and Vasque Country at San Sebastian in Spain and also at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Juan currently holds his NSCAA Premier Diploma, an Advanced Technician in Sports/Soccer from the Department of Education and Science of Spain, and his UEFA Pro Licence. Juan is fluent in Spanish, Galician, Portuguese, English, and French.
Richard Bentley- Smith is a native of Baton Rouge and grew up playing with BRSA/BRSC. He attended college at both University of Southern Mississippi and University of Houston. He played club soccer with USM. He coached with South Texas Youth Soccer and led his girls division 1 team to the Texas State Championship. Richard holds a D license. He has coached with BRSA since 1998 and began coaching with BRSC in 2010.
Paul Fletcher grew up in Central America (Panama, Canal Zone). He played soccer in high school for Cristobal High School. He coached his first soccer team while in 11th grade. He has coached with BRSA/BRSC since 1995 and has been coaching for BRSC since 2010. Paul led his u-18 boys team, Bullgators, to the State Cup. His U12 Maroon BRSC team was a state finalist in the 2012 State Cup. He coached for St. Amant High School and has coached for both the boys and girls soccer teams at St. Michael High School since 2005. He is currently the Head Coach for the St. Michael High School Boys Team and coaches the BRSC 00 Boys Maroon. Paul holds a USSF National "D" license.
Courtnie Prather joined the BRSC Goalkeeping staff in Spring 2011. Prather is currently the Head Coach of Women's Soccer at Southern University. Prather is also a member of the Region III ODP Goalkeeper Coaching Staff. Prior to coming to Southern University, she was the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Coach at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS. She was also the Director of Goalkeeping for the Hattiesburg Futbol Club. Prather has a Masters Degree in child & adolescent psychology and holds a USSF ‘D’ coaching license as well as an NSCAA Level I,II, and III goalkeeper diplomas
Miles Vaughn is in his second full year with BRSC. He played soccer at Southlake Carroll High School and for the Texas Lightning Soccer Club. He played collegiately at Austin College. Miles holds the USSF National "D" License and has worked with the BRSC Academy Program and is the U11 Boys Red Head Coach. .e also is a member of the Catholic High School soccer staff.
Kyle Peres is currently a BRSC staff coach for our BRSC U-12 Maroon Boys team. He was also assistant coach at St. Michael High School Boys Soccer program for 7 years. He currently holds a USSF National “D” License. His playing history with soccer started at 5 years old and continued through high school where he attended Holy Cross of New Orleans and St. Michael High School in Baton Rouge. Kyle earned his Undergraduate Degree from LSU in Accounting and will earn his Masters of Business Degree from LSU in May.
Sean grew up playing soccer in Baton Rouge. He has coached at the Recreational, Developmental and Competitive levels. Sean currently holds a USSF D license, NSCAA Regional, Advanced Regional, National and National Youth. Sean has coached youth from U5 to U12. Sean worked as the assistant coach with our 02 Boys Black team as they were State Champions as U12, and State Finalist as U13s. Currently, he is an assistant coach with Marvin Smith on U14 Black Boys.
Luke played premier from age 11 to 19 in Baton Rouge. He went on to play professional football in Wales for the club Bethesda Athletic F.C. Luke currently holds a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and is the head coach for our U15 and U17 boys Red teams
Natalie played collegiately for Northwestern State University from 2003-2007, where she was team captain for the Lady Demons from 2005-2007. She was named All-SLC first team in 2003, All-SLC second team in 2004 & 2007, and received the Sportsmanship of the Year award in 2006. She was also the recipient of the Hall of Fame award for outstanding female athlete in Health and Human Performance. She has experience working with Genesis Soccer Club, Gonzales Soccer Club, Baton Rouge Soccer Club and also OPD. Waguespack attended Redemptorist High School where she received 1st team All-District, 1st team All-Metro, 1st team All-State honors and was named the 2003 All-District MVP and All-Metro Offense MVP. She has worked as the Varsity assistant coach at Dutchtown High School since 2010. She is in the process of completing her "D" License..
Goalkeeper Staff Coach
Native of Baton Rouge. Grew up playing in goal for BRSA, BR Jags, GSA, and BRSC. High school soccer at Bishop Sullivan in 2003/04, at Woodlawn High School 2004-2007. All District & All-Metro at both schools. College soccer for the Crusaders from 2007-2010 at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS. All-Conference and All-Region teams & Rookie of the Year Freshman year. Started coaching with BRSC in 2011. Third season as assistant/goalkeeper coach at Southern University of Baton Rouge. Has coached keepers to the All-Conference and All-SWAC Tournament teams in the past 2 years. USSF D License and Level III Goalkeeping License.
