. When do the seasons run?
There are two seasons to a playing year, Fall and Spring. The Fall games will usually begin the weekend after Labor Day and end the first week in Novemeber. There are 8 games to the Fall season, including a two-game festival for all Pre-K - 6th Grade teams. The Spring season starts on February 18th and end on April 23rd. There are 8 games to the Spring season. When is registration?
Registration for Spring 2017 opens on December 1, 2016! Our Early Bird Discount ends on Wednesday, January 18th

How do I register?

. New players can also register at our office, mail in a printable registration. Returning players can register at our office, mail in a printable registration, or register over the phone.
When registering players can requests through registration to be placed on a team with friends, by school, coach, or close to where you live. While this is not guaranteed, BRSC will make every attempt to accommodate these requests.

Who will coach my Child's team?
BRSC Recreational coaches are volunteer parents or players. We offer courses at our Recreational Coaches meetings for anyone interested in coaching. Email Josh McReynolds to register for the Coaching Certification on Wednesday, August 31st.
Where are games played?
We have 4 different campuses to allow us to serve members in their communities:
All 7th grade and older teams will play in a Metro League comprised of teams from BRSC and other clubs in the greater Baton Rouge area, with the majority of games being played at Burbank.

. When does practice start?
Each coach determines when their team will start practice. The coach will notify his/her players via email or phone and let them know of the start date. Typically the teams start practicing one week prior to the season.
Where are practices held?
The coach will typically schedule practices around either the school the players are from or in the neighborhood where the majority of the kids live. All BREC parks are open for use by our soccer teams. In addition, you may contact local schools to get permission to practice on their facilities, which can be covered by our insurance at your request. Please contact the office for insurance information.

How many times per week do we practice?
While the team's practice schedule is determined by each team's coach, BRSC recommends the following schedule for practices:
- Pre-K - 2nd grade: Practice one time per week for 45 minutes to an hour.
- 3rd - 6th grade: Practice up to twice per week from 1 hour to 1 ½ hours.
- 7th grade and older: Practice twice per week for 1 ½ hours
How do I find out what team my child is on?
Once you have registered you can login to your Blue Sombrero account by clicking here to check on the placement of your child. For help with this please contact Morgan Bellington via email by clicking here. Due to the high volume of registration near the start of the season it may take 3-4 business days for your child to be placed on a team. If you have not heard from your coach one weeks prior to the first games, please contact the soccer office, phone 225-924-2157 for your player status.
How do I get uniforms?
All Pre-K through 5th grade players are required to wear the BRSC Red & White Adidas Uniforms which are purchased through Third Coast Soccer. Socks and shorts will be provided by the player, many teams from Pre-K through 5th grade select black shorts and black socks.
Home team will wear white and visitors will wear red shirts. ALWAYS BRING BOTH JERSEYS TO EACH GAME.
Uniforms for 6th grade and older players are determined by the coach on a team by team basis, be sure to ask your coach!

Where can I find my schedule?
Games schedules are posted one week prior to the start of the season and can be found here.

What size ball do I use?
- Pre-K – 2nd Grade: Size 3
- 3rd - 6th Grade: Size 4
- 7th Grade and older: Size 5

How to Reschedule a Game?
- Go to the online schedules by clicking here.
- Find the team you are playing, and select their schedule.
The coaches contact information will be listed on their schedule.
- Contact the coach and let them know you need to reschedule.
- Once you agree on new date/time, email Jennifer Politz your team's request.
ONLY COACHES ARE ALLOWED TO REQUEST SCHEDULE CHANGES.
Requests need to be in at least 1 week prior to the original date the game is scheduled to be played. Any changes not requested at least 1 week prior may not be possible.
